Good Friday

Updated the blog template so I can see if I get any followers. It's been about two years since I looked at what you can do with these blogs.. wow, how things have come along! When I started all this it was all in Beta version. Now you can all sorts of gadgets and gizmo's on here with editing the HTML like before. Cool. Bring on the good stuff, I might even add some pictures and colour in there.
What a day today has been, I've been to three church services.. One at St Barnabas with Josh, sticking, cutting and gluing, making all sorts of things. Then over to St Mary's to help out the ladies setting up for lunch, then to the Broadway with 'Churches together people' and finally back to St Mary's after lunch for the final hour.
I love Easter... It has new meaning to me. As part of life now it's the best celebration in the year.. dare I say it.. more so than Christmas... Today is a strange day remembering the Lords death and why the day is called good. That's because he died for us all, for our sins, if you didn't already know. Good Friday though, should be a day were we stop and take time for ourselves and get close to God. Tomorrow night brings the vigil, waiting for the Lord. all followed by Easter Sunday when we celebrate loudly and joyfully Christ being risen from the dead and overcoming death.
Sunday lunch will bring wine, coffee, meat, chocolate and all those things given up for lent.
I'll continue doing new things I have done this Lent.. Helping out at church mainly with welcoming and the Pathfinder teenage group.

A trip for work.

I thought I'd make an entry for my Blog today, doing it in multiple bits. Early start, up at five making my way over to the ferry. Travelling up to Reading today to see Richard for work. Bought myself a new multi save ticket which means that I don't have to pay the extortionate levels of price the ferries can charge. That's highly recommended if you live on the Island. Arrived in Portsmouth and the sun was blazing. For a travel up to Reading let's see what the traffic is like. I imagine it's pretty busy, yes it was pretty busy. On the way back down it wasn't too bad, lots of folks around for the D Day commemoration at South Sea, lots of boats out here too. Had a good stop off after work seeing my Grand Babies, Daughter in Law, and Son number 1 in Thatcham. Hannah made the tea and I got to cuddle. Top ending to a pretty good day. Thought I'd try this again

  From time to time I think about writing more and then something stops me. I began this blog a long time ago with great intentions to record the things I do, for me to read, not you, sorry. But you see I'm that kind of person that doesn't mind rambling away here and sharing. I can only imagine how boring this is to other people. It serves a purpose for me though, writing things down off loads them from my mind. You see what I'm doing here, I'm resoning why I'm typing this out. Just realised I'm typing this and not even looking at the keyboard too, now that's new. I'm a touch typist! Of sorts, backspace seems to feature a lot. Why start writing again? When I did life was more interesting, the more I did the more I wrote. There are nearly 400 entries on this blog, lots of great memories for me. some not so great memories. Grandson Number 3.

Welcome to the world Ruben Hemingway Bullock. Born 29th July 2024, he's doing well and Mum and Dad are happy for their new arrival. Ruben is my fourth Grand Child and the son of my youngest, they grow up fast these kids do. They're leaving home and setting up by themselves in no time.  Lots of happiness ahead, you really do forget about the sleepless nights, 1:00a.m feed me calls and walks with the pushchair in the night to get them off to sleep. It's what it's all about. So I wonder what plans there are for Ruben, the world he's come into is changing, not always for the better in my opinion, but we have to embrace change and make them positive making the best of what we have. AI around the corner, I'm looking forward to having a robot around the house. Ruben will know no different, technology will be front and centre.  He's lucky to have some clever people around him to help him along the way.
