Hills Killer

The results are in, 4:56:14. 2010 Hills Killer Challenge. It was windy up on them there hills this year. A great ride out and a great weekend once again with my mate Terry. The fifth year of the doing the ride. The sun always shines.
We tried Zorbing.. I feel sick thinking of it. Great fun even though you feel sick whilst doing it. I was sick! apparently the first and only to be sick since they had began. I doubt that though. Nothing to do with drinking a few pints the night before either. The game of scrabble is still a bone of contention between me and my sister. We play once a year on the 23rd December on a Gin night. Called Gin night because of the copious amounts of the stuff we drink in one night. Usually I never touch the stuff. Anyways, Scrabble! We thought we would give it a go with Terry playing too, I was way out there in the lead... :-) At least I was until Kay won with a sneaky score I helped her get. Doh! Why did I open my mouth. Next year on Killers weekend we shall not be playing scrabble, Terry id simply no help in making me beat Kay.
Yet another great weekend though, avoided the sea and everything... That water was cold...

We lost Zac (aka White Dog) this week, he went downhill so fast with issues with his eyes. He was a very happy dog and although his last couple of weeks were difficult he didn't suffer.  He's been a great friend to us all in the family and he'll be sadly missed. More so by Michelle, he was her shadow, always there wherever she went, if she wasn't there he'd do his best to get in your way protesting the fact she was missing. She loved him so much and she told me yesterday he loved her more, I find this hard to believe seeing the devastation his loss has brought to her. I was with him when he went to sleep, it was very peaceful, and in his last moments, he had comfort from one of his Hoomans.  Losing a pet is difficult, You'd think it's just a dog but they're so much more, so much, especially when you have a hole in your life once they're gone. A trip for work.

I thought I'd make an entry for my Blog today, doing it in multiple bits. Early start, up at five making my way over to the ferry. Travelling up to Reading today to see Richard for work. Bought myself a new multi save ticket which means that I don't have to pay the extortionate levels of price the ferries can charge. That's highly recommended if you live on the Island. Arrived in Portsmouth and the sun was blazing. For a travel up to Reading let's see what the traffic is like. I imagine it's pretty busy, yes it was pretty busy. On the way back down it wasn't too bad, lots of folks around for the D Day commemoration at South Sea, lots of boats out here too. Had a good stop off after work seeing my Grand Babies, Daughter in Law, and Son number 1 in Thatcham. Hannah made the tea and I got to cuddle. Top ending to a pretty good day. Kiosk Number 6 - Project Begins

The drawings are nearly ready and the first lengths of timber arrived today, I can begin measuring out and build the base for the phone box this week. The base will allow me to bottom out all my dimensions for the drawings. The remaining wood comes next week and I have some time booked off work to have fun building. I'll resurrect my dads old wood plane, not been used in 25 years or more.  The drawings using MS Visio and actual measurements from my pals real phone box are looking pretty good. The replica I'm building should look like the real thing, however, some of the wall thicknesses will be less. We'll have to see how it turns out. I'm still thinking on the window methods, do I do individual windows or one pane covered by the framework. We shall see.
