Tales of the CBT

Did the CBT today. Completed it with no problems. I bought a motorbike a couple of weeks ago in readiness for the training but all that fell through. I paid the man £500 for the bike and he promised to get it delivered to the training ground. He sent a message apologising for not delivering, so I did the CBT on a bike belonging to the school.
After I finished the CBT, being keen as mustard I got hold of the bike guy and asked what happened to the bike. He told me it had been stolen so could I make my way to his shop to sort it all out. The guy told me the bike was stolen from the driveway of his partner who was going to be delivering it, he apologised and said he will try to make it right. This is were the plot started to thicken.... I asked if it had been reported to the cops and if so what was the crime number so I could claim on the insurance. This was me playing the situation a bit cool. I can't really find all the words to explain the whole thing but, these guys are trying it on. I paid £500 for the bike that's worth about £900. They told me a few days back people keep making offers on the bike but they say no because it is sold.
Well, to continue with situation, the shop owner said " I don't want you to claim let me make it right ". He offered me another bike for £200 more. I said no I can't afford anymore money. He then told me to leave it with him so he can work out his figures and he might be giving me my money back on Monday. To add more to the story, the bike I bought was sold to me at this shop but it was a private sale between me and the shop owners friend. Why are the shop owners giving me money back or another bike? I wasn't allowed to go into the back of the shop today were the bike has been stored the entrance had been blocked by other bikes. When I said give me the crime number and I will claim, after the silence, the red faces and the stuttering they made the offers of sorting it all out. The whole thing felt odd, they were acting different the shop was different and there actions didn't seem natural.
I've just read through this and I've wrote it making the shop guys look conscientious. That's just my shit English. My theory is that they sold the bike for more money and were hoping I would handover a bit more cash for another bike. I have the registration documents for this bike and receipts for the money. I will see what is offered on Monday and then decide what to do about it.
Oh well I'll leave it there for now.....
I'm sitting here all legal to ride a motorbike and practice for the test and I've got no bike!
